I’m Eva – an American who grew up in Connecticut and moved to Boston for university. Now I’ve come to Brno while I study for my Master’s degree in political science, and I absolutely love it here. I’ve taught English in the US, Russia, Morocco, and Poland, and it’s always fulfilling for me to get to know my students and learn together as friends. I love languages, geography, knitting, cats, and the ocean.

I think that learning a language is brave and exciting, and I love having the chance to help people achieve that. I’ve personally taken courses in German, Russian, Hungarian, and Lithuanian, and now I’m trying to learn Czech, so I understand how difficult it can be to make the jump from a textbook to a conversation. I’m Sam and I’m from the UK. I recently finished a PhD in Czech literature. Back in England, I also had my own little theatre company. I love writing, reading and developing ideas for short films and plays. I also play the guitar and piano. And obsess (a little) over cricket.

My name is Theodore and I came to Europe from the United States four years ago. In college I studied musicology and classical guitar performance. While in the USA I was a public school teacher for some time and also a gigging musician. I love dogs. I also love my hobbies: reading, exercising, and practicing music. There is definitely satisfaction to be had from making music on an instrument that you have some mastery of. But there is a whole other kind of satisfaction that comes from achievement during the beginning stages of learning an instrument.

I am a pretty easy-going guy and I love to help others. I believe in making the world a better place by starting right in your own neighborhood. If that means helping my neighbors to speak better English then I can do just that! I have been a teacher for a long time and I have the patience to help students acquire new grammar and vocabulary and also to practice towards fluency.
